Being able to respond to an emergency is an important aspect to mitigating its effects. This course was
developed to aid employers, contractors, and workers meet the requirements of the Alberta Occupational
Health and Safety Code, Part 7. Topics included in
this course include the purpose of an Emergency Response Plan, response levels, and types of emergencies
and actions that should be taken in response to them.
Mastery of this Core course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety
Practitioner (SP) certificate. The SP certificate has been awarded Certification Maintenance Points (CMP) by the Board of Canadian
Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and Registration Maintenance (RM) points by the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational
