This course has been designed to help you become more aware of the risks presented by electricity and overhead power lines. If an incident occurs,
equipment and property can be damaged and people can be seriously hurt, or killed. This course was developed to help you meet the requirements of
the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code.
This course reviews various situations to provide you with an understanding of how you can protect yourself, your co-workers, and the general public from the electrical
hazards you may encounter when carrying out work near overhead power lines.
Mastery of this Elective course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety Specialist (SS) certificate. The SS certificate has been awarded
Certification Maintenance Points (CMP) by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and Registration Maintenance (RM)
