Identifying and dealing with hazards is required by
law and should be the first step in the design and
implementation of your occupational health and safety program.
This course was developed to help employers and managers meet the
requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code, Part 2. You will be shown how the
identification of workplace hazards in an important part of your operational
risk management program. Responsibilities are defined, hazard types are presented,
and the types of controls that are available are also discussed.
Mastery of this
Core course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety Practitioner (SP)
certificate. The SP certificate has been awarded Certification Maintenance Points
(CMP) by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and Registration
