Many workers need to enter confined spaces to perform such functions as repairs, inspections, or maintenance and work in such spaces can be very dangerous. The information presented in this course is based on the requirements listed in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Code. Information on how to identify a confined space, the hazards found in confined spaces, and how to protect yourself is presented. This course has been designed to help you meet all regulatory and government requirements including the Occupational Health and Safety Code. Mastery of this Elective course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety Specialist (SS) certificate. The SS certificate has been awarded Certification Maintenance Points (CMP) by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and Registration Maintenance (RM) points by the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH).
