• Energy Isolation
Energy isolation is the modern codified term for common lock-out tag-out procedures but has been made more global to include isolation of all energy forms. Every day, millions of workers come into contact with some type of hazardous energy. Tasks that expose workers to hazardous energy include servicing, inspecting, testing, or adjusting equipment. The main cause of injury is contact with high levels of uncontrolled energy. In order to prevent injury, you must understand the dangers and know how to control hazardous energy at its source. In this course, you will be shown how to identify and control hazardous energy through recognized lock-out and tag-out procedures. This course has been designed to help you meet all regulatory and government requirements including the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code, Part 15. Mastery of this Core course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety Practitioner (SP) certificate. The SP certificate has been awarded Certification Maintenance Points (CMP) by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and Registration Maintenance (RM) points by the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH).
