Every day, millions of workers come into contact with some type of hazardous energy. Tasks that expose workers to hazardous energy include servicing, inspecting, testing, or adjusting equipment. Energy isolation is the modern codified term for common lock-out tag-out procedures but has been made more global to include isolation of all energy forms. This course was developed to aid employers, contractors, and workers meet the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Code. In this course, you will be shown how to identify and control hazardous energy through recognized lock-out and tag-out procedures. Mastery of this Core course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety Practitioner (SP) certificate. The SP certificate has been awarded Certification Maintenance Points (CMP) by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and Registration Maintenance (RM) points by the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH).
