Managers, supervisors, and workers all have responsibilities with respect to the selection and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This course was developed to help you meet the requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code, Part 18. You will be presented with a description of the major classes of PPE used at the work site, your responsibilities regarding the selection and use of PPE, and the most common PPE items that are required as part of a corporate health and safety program. Mastery of this Elective course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety Specialist (SS) certificate. The SS certificate has been awarded Certification Maintenance Points (CMP) by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and Registration Maintenance (RM) points by the Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists (CRBOH).
