Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) and other toxic substances may be encountered in a
variety of industry processes. In this course, you will be presented with
information on the properties of H2S, ammonia, asbestos, benzene, chlorine,
and other toxic substances. Information on respiratory protective equipment,
hazard evaluation, hazard controls, and emergency response planning is presented.
This course was developed to help you meet the requirements of the Alberta
Occupational Health and Safety Code.
Mastery of this Elective course qualifies you for credit towards the Safety
Specialist (SS) certificate. The SS certificate has been awarded Certification
Maintenance Points (CMP) by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals
(BCRSP) and Registration Maintenance (RM) points by the Canadian Registration
